Snow, snow, snow!!!

We have had so much snow this year! We are supposed to have snow every other day for the next week! I can't think of the last time I saw my lawn. Jonathon, Halley and Bridger have season passes to Sundance and they are thrilled with all the snow. Every day they have off, they load up and head up the canyon. They have had so much fun doing this each year. Gage and I usually stay home and do something fun like go to the movie or sledding. In a couple of years Gage will be old enough to go with them! The kids think skiing is nerdy, and want me to learn how to snowboard...I think they just want to use me for entertainment!

Honoring the Prophet

About 15 minutes after the news of President Hinckley's passing, Halley started receiving text messages on her phone. One of these said to wear your Sunday best to school on Monday in honor of him. When I dropped Halley and her friends off at school I couldn't hold back the tears. It was so touching to see these young teenagers showing respect, in their own way, to the only Prophet they have known. In my mind it was just the Jr Highs here in Spanish Fork, but on the news last night it said it was all of the state and several surrounding states. I am so thankful to live among such valiant youth, and I'm sure President Hinckley was smiling!

My Favorite Things

Have you ever had a day that you are being pulled in so many different directions that you are thankful you have to pee because you get to sit down for 10 seconds? That would be today! So my post is going to be a lot of fluff today, but that's all I can do at the moment.

I love Oprah's favorite things show so I thought I'd do my own list. Don't get excited, you don't get my stuff for free- I don't have that kind of clout!

Shark floor steamer- I have kind of an obsession with clean floors. I love them! When my floors are clean I feel a sense of peace, stupid I know, but that's just me. This is the best invention! It cleans my floors so well and is quick and easy. I haven't been on my hands and knees cleaning my floors since I bought it!

Sonicare toothbrush- every time I brush my teeth it's like a trip to the dentist for a cleaning. Can't live without it!

Goodwood Spinach Artichoke Dip- you knew I would have food on here! This is heaven! I have tried and tried and tried to make this myself...once it was close, but close is not good enough for this. I could eat the whole appetizer myself, Gage does...with a spoon!

Chi Straightener- I'm on my second one. What were those dumb things we used before the Chi? Love it on me, a must for Halley.

Front loading washing machine- I can fit two loads in one!! Enough said.

Mac X Mascara- I HATE crappy mascara! This is the best! No clumping, no flaking, no smearing, stays on all day...what more can you ask for?

Bath & Body Works Oil Burner- makes my whole house smell great in less than 2 minutes! Even better with clean floors. :)

Lysol- or our other name for it- OCD in a can! Being a bit of a germ freak I buy this at Costco, but have you seen the little purse size bottles? Great for public restrooms! I know, I know, I really should see someone about this...but do you know how many germs are in doctors offices???

Bajio's tortillas- mmmmm. Who can eat those grocery store, cardboard circles? I'm spoiled now. We buy them for taco's, enchiladas, fajitas...all our tortilla needs.

Hanae Mori Perfume- smell it, you'll know.

Ugg moccasin slippers- I can put these puppies on and my whole body is warm!

Costco Dried Mangos- (thanks Grandpa!) I don't even love mangos! They have a great texture and taste amazing. There is one downfall though, it's hard not to eat the whole bag in one sitting (sorry Grandpa).

What are your favorite things?

Email

The last couple of weeks when I would leave the computer on, I would come back to find Gage moving the mouse around and clicking on things. I asked him what he was doing and he told me, "checking my email". So when he was doing this yesterday while I was cleaning I thought maybe I better find him something to do so he wouldn't mess up the computer. We had an old Disney Art Studio program that Halley and Bridger used to play with, I installed it and he was a pro in no time! I'm thrilled about it because I think it will be good exercise for his eye...it's just hard to believe my baby is checking his email already!

Where did she get this from?

When I got the mail yesterday there was something from the Spanish Fork Jr. High...Halley's report card! Halley is an excellent student, and has never received anything less than an A. Well her not too bright parents planned a surprise Disneyland trip the week that school got out for Christmas break (missed that whole week of school!). I did arrange for a friend to get her homework from the office so she could do it during the break, but she has a really difficult math teacher who wouldn't send her work home. When she went back to school she had a "D" (gasp), and 2 "C". She was bummed! She told us she didn't think there was any way she was going to keep her 4.0 average since the term ended in a week...neither did we. She is so self-motivated, she stayed after school, stayed up late after dance, worked her tail off and still thought she would only get an A- in pre-algebra...not so. We were so tickled to see all her hard work paid off! We are so proud of you Halley! You always exceed our expectations!

Here we go...

Ok, so lately I have been really good about reading my friends blogs. They are so fun and inspiring...even so inspiring as to get me to do my own! I'm not so sure I will be as eloquent as they are but at least I will be journaling some family memories, right? I have a little time to waste (ha,ha!! We'll call it that, but it's really I'm tired for a minute, the kids are asleep and the laundry can wait!). I usually sit down at the computer, so I might as well be doing something useful. After President Eyring's talk in conference I felt a little guilt! I would love to read his journal on seeing the hand of God each day in his life, what a priceless treasure to leave your family! Hopefully mine will be more than the mad ramblings of a crazy mother, though I'm not going to guarantee anything!
