Curious/Pathetic

I am loving American Idol this year! Vote off night makes me sad because I really do like them all. I was especially mad when it was Michael Paul--I loved him! I think my favorites are both the Davids. So I'm wondering, who are you cheering for?


And guess who is back in my home tomorrow?! I've missed you all!

The Eka Family

(by the way...I am like 8 months pregnant in this picture, so be nice!)

My grandparents have served 2 missions in Nigeria. They returned the second time in 2004. They love the African people dearly. If it were not for some health problems I believe they would be there again!

They have become so close to so many of the people they became friends with over there. David and Ekaete Eka are 2 of those people. David was the mission president on their second mission. We had the privilege while Grandma & Grandpa were in Africa to have the Eka family to our home for dinner . They are remarkable people and have such a strong testimony of the gospel. They are very loyal to their country. David recieved his education in England, but returned to work in his own country in hopes to better life there. He was a convert to the Church in 1979. Elder Eka is now in one of the eight Quorums of the Seventy. We were able to attend a Fireside last night where Elder and Sister Eka spoke. It was so inspiring, and so are they. He was one of the main influences in getting a temple built in Nigeria. He is tireless in his efforts to teach the gospel and retain the members in Nigeria. I feel so privileged to know this man and his dear family.

On a funny note--mom and I gave Elder and Sister Eka a ride back to their son's apartment in Orem last night. Well, we didn't know where they lived and neither did the Eka's! They knew it was by UVSC, but couldn't quite tell us how to get there. We drove in every apartment complex there was, and each time they would say, "no, no, no. It's not it." I was in the back with Sister Eka and I was trying so hard not to laugh! I just kept thinking, "we are lost in Orem with a Quorum of the Seventy member from Nigeria!" After about 40 minutes Sister Eka got us on the right track. After mom and I dropped them off we couldn't breathe we were laughing so hard! Bet you can't say that's happened to you!

If you haven't already, you need to check out the new Nickelodeon show Dance on Sunset. Hefa, one of the dancers on the show is from Spanish Fork. I went to school with his mom, became friends with his dad and took dance from his grandma. He is AMAZING!!! It's been so fun to watch him. He was also a principal dancer on High School Musical 2 among other credits. It's on Nick, Sunday night at 9:30 MST. Go Hefa!!

Tigers 0-6

I am officially in a deep, deep, deep depression. I am an emotional eater. If you notice me gaining weight, please remove the ice cream from the freezer.

When it was 0-3 I thought it was bad. Well, what was bad has quickly become worse! What happened to our "Monster Line-up"? It was supposed to be intimidating, they were supposed to be hammering everything, instead they can't get the bat on the ball! I thought pitching was going to be our downfall, especially with Rodney and Zumaya out for who knows how long! The pitching has been ok, sure there have been some rough spots, but without the offense giving them some help there is only so much they can do! Tomorrow...Boston. Hopefully getting away from home will bring a change other than scenery.

Not that any of you are interested in these ramblings, but I had to vent! Jonathon just laughs at me because we have a baseball war going on with the neighbors, damn Yankee fans! He tells me it's my turn to eat crow. The damn Yankee fans are texting me all the time, surely if they were 0-6 I wouldn't be rubbing it in your face! I would be kind and compassionate. I might even bring you dinner, with lots of ice cream for dessert.
